The date is now set: Feb 15. It's the first day on the working permit (I had requested that day).
I officially resigned my apartment this week for Feb 15. (My apartment contract has a 3 month notice period).
I have a giant calendar at home where I keep organized. I counted down backwards from Feb 15. 106 days until I leave Germany.
I counted down again, taking out the days where I'm not already in Germany, such as holidays in the US, etc., as those are 'non-productive' days in the grand scheme of moving. 84 more nights in Germany.
Holy cr*p, so much to do....
I then counted again to confirm. Then I opened a bottle of nice Spanish white wine upon second confirmation.
What a wonderful opportunity this will be to re-examine everything I own, and to contemplate if I really need it enough to cart it 550 km away. :-)
