Still here
Since fall ('autumn' in UK terminology) has come, I've been slightly swamped with activities, each of which probably deserves its own blog post. Some short highlights from the past weeks:

Today at the English seaside
One of the things I was looking forward to when moving to the UK from Germany was the ability to be able to easily take a day trip to somewhere along the sea. My former corner of NRW Germany was very convenient for the mountains, but hours away from the seaside.
It was predicted to be 25 today, and will probably be the hottest weekend day until next spring/summer. So I went out early and had time to enjoy the early sun before the masses arrived:

Essex has plenty of beaches and coastline, with much of it reachable by train, which is what I did today. This photo is of Clacton-on-Sea, it's a mere 90 minutes on a direct train line from London's Liverpool Street station.
